Krypton
There's more to the legend.
Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.
Why it matters in DC
Superman's grandfather becomes the centre of a story set before Krypton's destruction. That change of generation gives the House of El a life and political history beyond its role in Clark's origin, without requiring the series to function as a prequel to every Superman adaptation.

How these titles are selected
Story prerequisites are curated. Likely prerequisites are inferred from sequel numbering or explicit synopsis references. Recommendations are earlier stories in the same continuity; background picks are separate adaptations. Series lists cover whole shows, not an episode-by-episode watch order.
