The Suicide Squad is title 11 of 16 in our DC Extended Universe viewing sequence. This is a new Task Force X mission within the DCEU collection, connecting Harley Quinn with Bloodsport and Peacemaker. Its clearest onward link is Peacemaker's television story. The first Suicide Squad introduces the team premise and some familiar faces, but the two films should be distinguished by their separate missions rather than merged into one plot.
